Netball 2019

JUNIOR, SENIOR & SOCIAL Netball:

Netball provides students with an excellent opportunity  to be involved with the extra-curricular activities at the college.  It involves a  large number of girls and is therefore  essential that strong partnerships are developed between staff, students, parents and caregivers.

Competitions: All College Netball will be played on a Friday - This is new to 2019!

Netball Evening: Wednesday 3rd April 5.30pm to 7pm. All parents, players, coaches and managers to attend this evening. This will be the first opportunity to see which team/squad the player has made and opportunity to pay balance of fees & pick up her uniform. More details about this evening will come out at trails.

Fees: $110,  a deposit (non-fundable) of $60 must be paid before a student is able to trial.

Premier teams fees will be more due to playing in the Hamilton competition, approx $175

1 player per family                     $110.00

Please note:    A registration  trial  fee of $60.00 (non-refundable)  is payable before the commencement of trials.  This is to ensure your daughter a place in a team.  The remaining amount of $50.00 must be paid in full by 2nd April 2019.  All fees should be made through the Fees Office with the attached registration form.

SENIOR SOCIAL TEAMS

Students form their own teams and they must have a coach, manager & umpire. Each team MUST have 10 players.

Each individual player must fill in the below form and then the TEAM must pick up a team registration form form the Sports Office and Team Forms need to be handed in by 9th April 2018 and all fees paid.

Trails: 

Year 9 – You MUST have registered and paid the trial fee by Thursday 28th February.

All must attend at least one of the following dates:

Sunday March 3rd - Yr 9, 12pm – 4pm at the top courts.

Wednesday March 6th  - 3.30-5.30 at the top courts.

Wednesday 13th March-  Yr 9 / 10 Junior A and Junior Development 3.30 – 5.30 Invitation only

Year 10 – You MUST have registered and paid the trial fee by Thursday 7th March.

All must attend at least one of the following dates:

Sunday 10th March, Yr 10, 2pm – 4pm at the top courts

Wednesday 13th March 3.30pm to 5.30pm - Junior A & Junior Development, invitation only

Thursday 14th March 3.30pm to 5pm - All year 10 students who missed 10th March trail or who have been asked to attend.

Premier and Senior A Teams - You MUST have registered and paid the trial fee by Thursday 14th March.

Anyone interested in trialling for the Premier and Senior A Teams, you must be Year 11 – 13, or an invited year 9 or 10 student.

Monday 11th March – 3.30 – 5.30pm.

Monday 18th March – Prem and Snr A Call Backs 3.30 – 5.30.

All other Seniors: You MUST have registered and paid the trial fee by Thursday 14th March.

Sunday 17th March 2pm to 4.30pm at TGC Netball Courts.

Wednesday 20th March – Back up day, for cancelled trials or tidy up.

From these trials, the school will coordinate more if needed to ensure all players are placed according to ability and skill. A senior squad ( to make Premier & Senior A teams) and a Junior squad (to make Junior A & Junior Development teams) will be named and they will compete in a preseason tournament on the weekend of 12-14th April, and following this the Premier, Senior A, Junior A and Junior Development teams will be named on the 15th April.

It is expected that girls turn up to trials on time and be ready to go by 3:30pm with shoes, appropriate clothing, nails cut, jewellery off,  hair tied up, water bottle and a positive attitude.

We will endeavour to ensure all girls get a fair amount of court time, however sometimes depending on player position preference, some get more than others.

TGC prides itself on the professional way our trials, any queries or questions should be directed to our Netball coordinator in the first instance.

If you are unable to make a trial PLEASE MAKE SURE that you let Mrs Barnett or Cel our Netball Coordinator know at the sports office.

UNIFORMS
Uniforms are supplied by the school. Please note that uniforms will only be issued to girls who have paid the full registration fee of $110. The first opportunity to get your uniform is at the Netball Evening on Wednesday 3rd April. The Sports Office will notify all students regarding the issuing of uniforms; this will be published in the Daily Notices.  At the end of the season, all uniforms must be returned to the Sports Office within 14 days from the last scheduled game. Failure to return the uniform within this time may incur further fees. An invoice will be issued for any lost or misplaced items.
