Celebrating womens’ achievements at the Diamond Jubilee’s “Sixtieth Summit”
What do a former Mayor of Hamilton, a singer at the opening of the 2011 Rugby World Cup, the innovative creative spark behind ‘Tarnished Frocks and Divas’, and a prominent Nurses’ Organisation advocate have in common? Well, they are all aspirational women for starters, alumni of Tauranga Girls’ College and just four of the interesting speakers featured at the ‘Sixtieth Summit’ – one of the events taking place to celebrate the Tauranga Girls’ College Diamond Jubilee 60th Reunion – on Labour Weekend Saturday 20th October.
The answers are (in order): Julie Hardaker; Ria Hall; Denny Spee and Carol Beaumont. In addition to celebrating the achievement of past TGC students, there will also be female speakers (who didn’t attend TGC) from a wide range of backgrounds – politics, leadership, business, sports and arts and culture – who will be speaking at different venues at Tauranga Girls’ College.
The event will also showcase the achievements of three other prominent alumni: Annabel White – author, chef and media personality; and Gemma McCaw – former NZ Olympic representative (2008, 2012, and 2016) for the Black Sticks women; and be hosted by 1 News Sports journalist, Michelle Prendeville.
If you would like to be part of this audience and come to the Sixtieth Summit – this is open to the whole community, non-alumni, male and female – please go to the Reunion link on this website to register and guarantee your seat at this innovative TGC event.
