JUNIOR, SENIOR & SOCIAL Netball:
Netball provides students with an excellent opportunity to be involved with the extra-curricular activities at the college. It involves a large number of girls and is therefore essential that strong partnerships are developed between staff, students, parents and caregivers.

Open Trial Process and Team Selection
At Tauranga Girls' College we have an open selection process. The selection panel may include appointed coaches at each year level and at least two other appointed independent selectors with sound netball coaching background. All girls will be trialled on court in their two preferred playing positions. Players may also be asked to trial in other positions as requested by the selectors. Junior teams will be named no later than Week 11 in Term 1. Please remember that teams are selected purely on the skill and potential displayed at these trials. There may be opportunities for player movement throughout the season. We appreciate your patience and understanding once team selections have been confirmed. To view Tauranga Girls' College Player Selection policy please click on the following link http://www.tgc.school.nz/our-sports-player-selection-policy.
All girls interested in playing competitive Netball MUST attend ALL trials to be eligible for a graded team, however in some circumstances (discussed with selectors and netball coordinator prior to trials) previous performances will be considered in the selection process. Any player unable to attend any trial is required to apply in writing for an exemption. Address an email to the Netball Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible prior to the trial dates. Where trial dates clash with a player playing for another Tauranga Girls' College sporting team, that other game will take priority but you must notify the Netball Coordinator of this situation.
