BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology)

BYOT Device for Tauranga Girls’ College Programme 

The student owned device that is required, must have the below minimum specifications.
This will change from year to year as more advanced programs become available and the school upgrades their software to improve and enrich the e-learning for students.

Device recommended specifications:

  • Wireless network capable for connectivity to the Tauranga Girl’s College campus wide Wi-Fi

  • A coloured screen to ensure the graphics display the appropriate colours of images

  • A method to input information, whether this is via a keyboard on the screen or with the use of an external accessory plugging into the device.

  • The battery life of the device must be equivalent to a full morning of work, so from 8:30am until 1:20pm when the device can be recharged over lunch break.

  • A web browser must be able to be run an internet search, whether this is Firefox, Chrome, Opera, or Internet Explorer.

  • Sound capable with a place to insert a headset connection, so as to hear audio files, but to not disturb other students.

  • Able to create notes, access google docs’ and email.

  • Portability and weight should be essential considerations when looking at your purchase, remembering your daughter will be carrying this device all day

Device Exclusions:

  • The device should not connect to a cellular network ( or it can be turned off)

  • Must not be shared between multiple students
