Design Technology - Curriculum - Tauranga Girls' College
The Technology Department is made up of four main areas of study. These areas are similar in that they all take the student on a journey from a Design Brief to a Design Resolution. These journeys take different pathways with different resolutions and final presentations. They range from purely visual drawings, to the construction of the actual product, to formal written reports, depending on which area the student selects to study.
Design and Visual Communication (DVC)
This is a visual journey, that encourages the student to explore and communicate design ideas, using freehand sketching, formal drawing techniques and digital formats to clearly and accurately convey the student’s own design thinking in response to a real life design brief.
