Tauranga Girls' College Library

Tauranga Girls’ College Library is a busy, welcoming space used throughout the school day by students and staff.
Our friendly library staff includes Ms Middleton, the Library Manager, Mrs Ollerenshaw, the Assistant Librarian and a team of student librarians.

Hours of opening:
The library remains open for the whole of the school day – opening at 8 am in the morning & closing at 4 pm in the afternoon.

Our print collection:
We have a collection of over 11,000 items in our print collection. This includes Reference books, Non-Fiction titles and fiction. Our fiction collection is large and varied, catering for many levels of reading. We also have 161 Research Files used for English speech topics, history, science and social studies projects.

Magazines
These include titles such as New Zealand Geographic to support study and popular teenage titles such as Crème for enjoyment.

Technology in the library
The library has one OPAC computer for searching the library collection and 10 networked computers downstairs which students can use for research and homework. Printing is available, as is a photocopier. There is an upstairs library computer suite which is used during class time.
Year 13s have a study area which includes several computers.
